My time on this trip was well worth it. Just before going to college to study law, I wanted an unique adventure and mission-oriented experience, Warren with Joshua 1 Ministries and Chet with Voice of Wilderness did not disappoint.

Our group, friends from church and all being around the same age made our relationships dynamic.  We all learned so much and were challenged and now realize that we are all capable of being leaders and have God given gifts that can be used for the Kingdom.

During the week there were lots of breakthroughs, tears, and areas we lacked in that were brought to our attention, at least it was for me.  From the time we worshipped, to the late-night talks with napachinos, tent talks, and praying for each other as brothers and sisters, but one thing this trip really helped me with, is praying for people. My fear to ask someone if they needed prayer dissipated. I learned there is no fear to ask to pray for people. I stopped being disobedient and grew by not listening to the words of the enemy, but instead listened to Gods commands.  I’m looking forward to coming back on this trip with Joshua 1 Ministries next summer.  As I move forward with my faith, I will remember that I am One of the Two of the Twelve

I went into the camp Joshua trip having no idea what to expect. At  first I felt completely out of place and insecure, but very quickly the Lord showed me that he had miraculously made a way for each person to go on this trip.

Something so sweet about this trip was that I felt like the Lord was allowing me to see each person on it through His lens of grace, pure love and gentleness. I can be quick to judge, and the Lord has shown me that He is the only way I can come out of that cycle of pride and judgement, by giving me a pure love for His people. He assured me of my identity in Him, that I may encourage others in their identity in Him.

He reminded me of the true importance of community, that His love is intimate and personal, and that we need to have a balance of spirit and truth. He tends to our every need and He sustained and refreshed each person on this trip with living water. There’s no way to even describe all of the ways the Lord moved, it is just something you need to come and see.

SO COME AND SEE!!!

Camp Joshua Mountain Adventure through Joshua 1 Ministries far exceeded my expectations of what I had anticipated. We were truly submerged in the beauty of God’s creation. Not only were my physical limits tested but also my mental and spiritual. I was beyond blessed to be surrounded by others who are hungry for God and intent on pursuing Him above all else. I went into Camp Joshua struggling to feel accepted and left with a deeper understanding of relationships, unity, and acceptance, not only within the Body but also with the Creator, Jesus Christ. I also left with a better understanding of Christ’s work in my past, that He works all things for good and through my life. He’s given me the gift of “loving the loveless” something I believe all of us as Christians are called to. I cannot wait for the years to come and look forward to attending Camp Joshua again in the future.

“I went into the trip knowing Jesus had something ready for me there. What I wasn’t expecting was the joy and companionship only He could provide. Hiking 15 miles in the Colorado Mountains teaches you to rely on Him for rest, joy, community, and anything else we think we can’t satisfy. He revealed Himself to me through those around me and through the struggles we went through as a body of Christ. Joshua 1 Ministry camping trip was a blast and I’d recommend everyone to go if you’re hesitating to.”

“Going on a Joshua One trip was so incredible for me. I grew up going on camping trips and enjoying the outdoors. I was also a missionary for several years but had since been getting back into a “nine to five” way of life. My heart was deprived of adventure. Needless to say, this was a weeklong adventure I needed. My group was so lively and fun and proper safety protocols were taken to make sure everyone had a safe and fun time. Though I was in a group I was able to find times alone to recharge in nature. I was never alone mentally. God was always right there showing Himself through nature and the deep beauty of His creation. It awakened my spirit. Living in the suburbs it can be hard to remember just how beautiful our world  is outside of the walls we find ourselves within everyday.

Mountains, Rivers, Pines, Hot Springs, Lodges, Rain, Hail, Dust, Horses, Fresh Air, Tents, Campfires, Worship, Community and No internet connection. Back to basics. Back to THE ONE. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR? Can’t wait to go back!”

"I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to go on the Joshua 1 trip. I loved every minute of being on the trail. The views were so stunning and it was so much fun getting to know the team. I had never been backpacking before so going into the trip, I was honestly really nervous. I was born with a genetic lung condition and although I’ve experienced a lot of physical healing, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to handle hiking at high altitude. I was amazed at how strong and healthy my lungs felt throughout the hike; it was a really beautiful reminder of just how much Jesus has worked in my life.

It was so wonderful to spend a week unplugged from the world to be able to connect with Jesus and friends in an honest, undistracted way. I laughed so much, had so many profound conversations, and encountered the Lord through worship and creation. It was an amazing, refreshing experience and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to go. Say Yes!!!”

“This trip to Colorado was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in my life. It's amazing how God can use every situation in life to speak to us. This trip with Joshua 1 Ministries was one of those situations where God spoke to me.

Experiencing the mountains and the beautiful views was so worth it. The focusing of our trip this year was on the ‘ONE’. The lessons that impact me the most was about focusing on Jesus the only TRUTH. The Lord used this message to help me change the way I see challenges and people. When I Focus on Jesus, the one and only truth, I realize the amazing perspective of grace and truth.”

“God used Joshua 1 Ministries to bless me with this trip and the beautiful people who have tagged along. My life prayer is this,

“Jesus use me. Jesus use me to bring many to your name. I want to believe that you are with me even when it seems as though you’re not. Grow me closer and closer to you being the best relationship I have. Bring people into my life that are going to love me like Jesus and truly do it with a well-intended heart. I’m afraid this life is going to get boring and mundane the older I get so please break that lie off my heart. Help me to believe that beautiful and greater things lie ahead.”

This trip answered this prayer for my life and has given me way more excitement for what lies ahead in my life instead of doubt, fear and disappointment.  This experience has shown me that I am truly never alone in this wilderness called life and that I am cared for. I have come to believe that God is never going to leave me and never not going to be able to help me when things get tough. Before the trip I felt as if I didn’t belong in this crowd of people because I wasn’t going to be very welcomed. But God put me in a place where I am loved right where I’m at. I’m very thankful

“I struggle with anxiety and was having a particularly rough time due to the current COVID situation. I don't know exactly what I was hoping to get out of our backpacking trip, but I do know that looking forward to whatever God had up his sleeve was the only thing getting me through some of the harder days. When we showed up at Mountain Light Lodge I felt an instant calm and peace within me. There was a fast connection to the group even though most of the group were strangers to me. Laughter was abundant and opening up to the group came so easily. The days spent lounging around camp and exploring the wilderness around us was so relaxing and being off the grid meant no distractions to receiving whatever the Lord had to say.

The group had amazing conversations and really developed a priceless bond. Austin and Warren led impactful and thought-provoking lessons each day. We did an activity on our last night called crowning each other with honor. I realized after that activity how many of the enemy's lies I had been believing and taking ownership of.  Hearing truth and goodness spoken over me and feeling such warmth and love from people that a few days before were mere strangers was a gift that I badly needed and didn't even know it. I came home feeling as thought my spirit had taken a long, hot shower. I was cleansed of so much spiritual dirt. My mind, my body, and my soul are refreshed which is a word the Lord gave me on the first morning at Mountain Light Lodge” - Kelly

“I really had no idea what I was getting into when I decided to go on this trip. There were so many unknowns as this would be the first time I had done any sort of backpacking hike. But I must say, it was all well worth it because it exceeded all of my expectations, and most importantly God was there with us.

Being out in the mountains, free from all routine, has to have been my favorite part. At home my schedule can be quite rigid with little flexibility, so being able to lounge in a hammock and just sit in God’s creation is truly something I hope to never take for granted. It is this moment alone that has me excited for the next adventure this ministry will have to offer.

If you are looking to get away from everything that distracts, take a break from the mundane, or go off-grid for a few days, then you don’t want to miss this opportunity. The Lodge is incredibly comforting, the forest and nature are absolutely beautiful, and the stillness of God is ever present. Through the messages that week, God delivered some much needed revelations about myself. And not just any kind of revelations. I’m talking about the “I just got hit by a bus!” type of revelations. He made them revealed during personal prayer, and also through the community of the other amazing people on the trip. The close relationships I formed with others have made a great impact on my life and I plan to keep them around.

It is clear that Warren and other leadership members partner with God through everything they did to prepare for this trip. They have created an impeccable space that is welcoming for all to come and freely enter the presence of God.”

“I was excited to be a part of Camp Joshua Mountain Adventure.  Fortunately, I knew several of the attendees from previous years while attending WoodsEdge Community Church.  Now at this particular time in my life I was at another crossroad where one fulfilling endeavor for our Lord was coming to an end and I wasn’t sure what path lay before me.  Each time the Lord has surprised me with a path forward that I hadn’t even imagined.

But what I was really hoping to experience was a thoughtful and fulfilling time up in God’s country (Colorado) with other caring and sincere Christians! (I needed some refreshing time away from my normal busy life to think). This trip contained a wide age range of individuals which made it far more interesting for me.  Although, at age 81, I knew I wouldn’t be able to make the hike up the mountain with the rest of them, I also knew and looked forward to being with other searching Christians who certainly welcomed me.  This experience at Mountain Light Lodge was everything I hoped it to be!  Upbeat positive individuals who have a penchant for adventure and laughter and who truly love our, Lord!  I came away from this experience not with a concrete answer but with a reassurance that God is ever present in my life and I am excited to see what He has in store for me in the coming years.  Met one young woman whom I’m sure I’m going to meet again!  Her love for adventure rivals’ mine!

Thank you Warren and Austin for a superb time and for your detailed preparations which made this trip as successful as it was!! You’re the best!!!”

“Before going on this trip to Colorado with Joshua 1 Ministries, my prayer was just that the Lord would reveal Himself to me and allow me to find peace during these years in my life. Being a young adult has so far been one of the most confusing times in life because it seems like everyone you know is all over the map with where they’re at in life. It makes it hard to figure out exactly where you feel like you should be or where you fit in.”

“Going on this trip, I wasn’t expecting to find people going through the exact same struggles as me, but I was hoping for people who I knew were placing their hope in the same God. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to relate to others in this way, while being surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. I felt so loved by this community of believers, which was incredibly encouraging. I’ve made some friends I know will last a lifetime and most importantly, I was able to rest in His goodness. Getting a break from the busyness of life can be a pretty rare thing but learning how to take time and do this has been such a refreshing lesson that I can still implement in my everyday life.”

“Camp Joshua backpacking trip was a trip that challenged me to step out my comfort zone and really trust my group. As a team we grew in confidence in the lord as we navigated through challenging terrain. The devotionals at the end of the day really impacted me after long/tiring days. The Lord was teaching me to love and really focus on Jesus. I appreciate Joshua 1 Ministries and the intentionality to push people to grow by showing them that sometimes faith is uncomfortable but necessary. It’s was a beautiful.”

“I've been blessed to be on several Camp Joshua Mountain Adventures.  My first trip was in 2016.  I had never hiked that far or spent the night out in a tent that many days.  I knew it would probably be a challenge, and it was!  God showed me the need to get out of my comfort zone and away from the hurry that we all face nowadays.  He reminded me again and again of how He works through not only Creation, but how He uses His people to serve each other.  Without fail, on each of my trips, I was shown mercy, grace, humor, a servant’s heart, and steadfastness from others in the group.  The world needs to see this as strong evidence of a changed life!  The trips are well planned, but with flexibility.  I truly have appreciated the experiences in how they were used to grow me and allow me to see Jesus in others and in Creation!”

“In the middle of some rough times God pulled me out of my comfort zone to an unfamiliar place and situation. Despite my uncertainty, he showed me how much he loves me as His child through the beauty and serenity of his creation and fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters. It was an experience I won't forget and I hope to go again.”
